DescriptionLarge, thorny shrub or small tree, with brownish-gray bark; leaves elliptic to oblong-ovate, serrate with shallow lateral lobes, glabrous or sparsely pubescent; inflorescence glabrous; sepals reflexed; petals white, nearly orbicular; stamens few; fruit oblong, dark red to black, glabrous; nutlets ridged on outer face, pitted on the inner.
EcologyWoods. Described from northwest North America.
