DescriptionDensely tufted; stems from stout, branched caudex; basal leaves pinnate with 5 leaflets, the basal pair of lateral leaflets smaller than the upper, in small specimens sometimes lacking, glabrous or nearly so above, densely white-tomentose beneath; bractlets oblong-linear; calyx lobes ovate-lanceolate; petals obcordate, somewhat longer than calyx; style incrassated and verrucose at base; receptacle strongly pu- bescent.
