DescriptionStems white-short-pubescent, from woody caudex, with subterranean runners, with leafless sheaths at base; stipules brown, membranaceous, broadly ovate, white- or black-pubescent; leaflets 7-11, ovate to oblong-ovate, blunt, glabrous above, pubescent beneath; racemes longer than leaves, few-flowered, crowded; calyx more or less black- or white-pubescent, with triangular, acute teeth; corolla ochroleucous, the standard rounded, emarginate; pod ovate to elliptic, acute at both ends; black- strigose, stigma glabrous.
EcologyStony slopes, solifluction soil, heaths, meadows, in the mountains to at least 1,100 meters.
UsesThe root is edible and used by the natives of Siberia.
