DescriptionStems from short, woody rhizome; stipules lanceolate to ovate; leaves with 9-17 narrowly oblong to elliptic, obtuse leaflets, glabrous above, canescent beneath; flowering raceme first dense, soon elongating; calyx black-haired with linear-lanceo- late teeth; corolla purple; wings only slightly longer than keel; pods sessile or short- stipulated, obliquely ellipsoid to ovoid, reflexed, densely black-hirsute (or rarely white-hirsute) to strigose.
EcologyGravel, stony slopes, meadows. Described from the Rocky Mountains.
