DescriptionSaprophyte with fleshy, unbranched stem, lacking chlorophyll, pink or reddish, blackening when dried; stems clustered, with scales instead of leaves, 1-flowered; petals scalelike; style short and thick; flower nodding, but fruit erect.
EcologyWoods. Described from Maryland, Virginia, and Canada.
