DescriptionStems several, glabrate below, villous above, from short, stout, scaly, many-head- ed caudex; basal leaves lacking; stem leaves ovate, ovate-lanceolate, or lanceolate, somewhat acute, pubescent on both sides, 3- to 5-nerved; bracts ovate, the lower- most entire, the others with long, blunt or somewhat acute lobes, yellowish or greenish-yellow; calyx lobes obtuse or rounded; lower lip of corolla small, mostly entire, green, upper lip yellow in margin.
EcologySubalpine meadows. Common on the southwestern coast.
