DescriptionCaespitose; stems simple, pubescent above, from taproot and short, woody cau- dex; basal leaves sparsely pubescent above, more so beneath, once to twice pinnati- fid, ultimate sections linear to lanceolate; stem leaves reduced; bracts linear, entire, long, patent; heads globular, 4-6 mm in diameter, nodding, the lower peduncled; involucral bracts broadly ovate, densely pubescent, with conspicuous, brown, scar- ious margin; flowers yellow, glandular-dotted, glabrous.
EcologyRocky and sandy slopes. Type locality not given.
