DescriptionPlant with slender rhizomes and stolons; flowering stem preceding leaves; stam- inate inflorescence soon shriveling, the pistillate elongating; leaves reniform to suborbicular, cleft to more than two-thirds toward base into 5-7 sharply toothed and cleft lobes, green and glabrous above, shiny white-tomentose beneath; flowers creamy white.
EcologySwampy places, moist woods. Described from Newfoundland.
