DescriptionStem tall and coarse, from stout caudex; leaves lanceolate-ovate, coarsely toothed, the lower petiolated, green above, pale beneath, floccose when young; inflorescence corymbiform, very dense; involucral bracts firm, ovate-lanceolate, with dark edges; flowers purplish; pappus white to brownish.
EcologyMoist meadows.
