DescriptionStem low, from short caudex; leaves ovate-lanceolate to oblong, dentate, green and sparsely glandular-dotted above, white-tomentose beneath, the upper some- times exceeding the dense, silky-pubescent inflorescence; involucral bracts ovate- lanceolate, acute; flowers purplish; receptacle with long, shiny scales; pappus white to brownish.
EcologyTundra and mountain slopes. Described from Kamchatka.
