DescriptionStems glabrous below, floccose above, from stout, branching caudex; basal leaves long-petiolated, ovate-lanceolate to ovate, sparsely denticulate, glabrous; green on both sides; stem leaves reduced, lanceolate; inflorescence corymbose, floccose, with long, linear bracts; involucral bracts lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute; flowers purplish, anthers, dark; receptacle lacking scales; pappus tawny.
EcologySeashores, alpine meadows. Described from Kamchatka and Cape Espenberg (Kotzebue Sound).
